Difficulties facing International students

Grammar and vocabulary can be one of the problems for International students when they write in English, however, these are not likely to be the most problems.

Since International students are used to writing in a different academic style they learnt in their home countries, it may take time to get used to the new way of writing, which could be the most problems.

I do not think that international students' difficulties with grammar and vocabulary cause them the most problems when writing in English. I realized this because in the class, we had a chance to review other students’ essay, and what I noticed most was the problem of structure of the essay, not the grammar or vocabulary although there might be many mistakes in them.

For me, it is quite difficult to write in an correct order and in an formal British academic essay style. I quite agree that the grammar and the vocabulary are the important to write the essay because it takes a long time for you to change your writing habits but it is easy to change the writing methods according to the more academic way. And also I really need to focus on the writing way. The tutor commented my essay as an conversational writing. And I should avoid using the oral words instead of the academic words.

In my own opinion, STYLE is one of the most singnificant problems to our international students, like Monica said. For example, In china, we prefer using circumlocutions to express an opinion other than using a directly way, which means i usually talk,talk,talk, but there is no core point in an essay at all.I think that i already give a lot of information about one topic, actually the teachers or readers could not understood what did i mean.
As to the English grammer and vocabulary, it might be not the most difficult problems for us, but we also make mistakes on that. Such as VERB TENSE， PLURALS，the importance of this some problems which may be showed in our academic essay occasionally can never be exaggerated.

Learning from others who shoe an excelent performance in academic writing and getting the most language import by reading may be the good ways to improve our writting skill.

I am also not good at writting, usually made a lot lot lot lot of mistakes in my essay,haha：）

Presumably, grammar and vocabulary may cause some problems, however, personally I believe that difference between UK academic writing and academic writing of other country may cause the biggest problem. By this I mean, the style or method of writing is the most important.

I also agree with most of my friend. I think the serious concerns are grammar, vocabulary and style. This is because it's really difficult to use properly. For grammar is likely a little mistake that can easily fix.
However, style and vocabulary are required long time and experience to cope with.
